The ongoing EPA restrictions on production of anticoagulants will progressively increase the toxicity cases with ingredients such as Bromethalin and Cholecalciferol. This change has complicated case management of the "mystery green block" ingestion when owners have no idea which type their pet ingested.
Dr. Marilyn Brink, veterinarian and medical director at Animal Emergency Hospital, will be giving a talk on the four most common rodenticides, along with their mechanism of action, clinical signs of poisoning, and treatment options. A case review will provide clinical application to common scenarios regarding different active ingredients and time since exposure.
