Boehringer Ingelheim is generously sponsoring this meeting, and bringing in Dr. Gordon to discuss the management of Chronic Mitral Valve Disease. This meeting is open to veterinarians and technicians.

Dr. Gordon plans to cover the following:

• Know how to use appropriate diagnostic tests to stage dogs with CVD according to the ACVIM Heart Failure Staging scheme, with emphasis on the role of echocardiography versus thoracic radiographs.
• Learn the new recommendations for treatment of stage B2 CVD, with emphasis on the scientific evidence responsible for the updates.
• Learn the new recommendations for treatment of stage C CVD, with emphasis on the scientific evidence responsible for the updates.

Dr. Gordon is an associate professor of cardiology at Texas A&M College of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences. She is also an associate professor of cardiology and a Fellow of the Michael E. DeBakey Institute. Dr. Gordon was board certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in the specialty of cardiology in 1999.
